For all of us beady bloggers, this is a big day! The 8th annual Bead Soup Blog Party is in full swing! This is the third year that I have participated, and each year has been fun and challenging. I really hit it off with my partner, Leithleach which made things extra fun. A look back at our soups can be viewed here.
I will start the pictures with one of the necklaces I made. I received two focals, and used both of them in necklaces. The first one is a pretty red flower with subtle white stripes. I combined it with black lucite and glass flowers, antique brass metal, and large red Czech glass beads. I am thrilled with how this necklace turned out.
Isn't it sweet?
The second necklace I made kind of has an Earthy, southwestern feel to me. I used many elements from my soup, then added some gemstones, chain, leather cord, and ribbon. I also hammered out some copper washers and an S clasp and aged them with liver of sulfer.
I made some earrings with the Mother of Pearl coins that I thought turned out cute. I have lots more of these to work with, and I think I'll make a cha-cha bracelet to match.
Last but not least, of course I had to make something beachy. I had some little silver rope rings that went perfectly with the clasp from my soup. I used them to dangle seashells, starfish, and crystals all around this little bracelet.
This was such a fun experience. I have to say that each of my pieces ended up being different than I thought they would be when I first started them. They evolved into their own, and I guess that's what I'm doing too. It is very rewarding to create, and being challenged to create with something we might not normally choose shows us that there are infinite possibilities. I would like to thank Lori Anderson for her amazing dedication, hard work, perseverance and the love she has put into this huge party. A big thank you also goes out to my wonderful partner Leithleach. One of the very best things about this experience for me has been making a new friend.

ReplyDeleteall projects are great, but this necklace with red flower is really amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces. I love the red and blue necklace - so bright.
ReplyDeleteThose necklaces hang beautifully. I am in love with your birds.
ReplyDeleteYou handle that blue and red very well...that is a hard combination for me and the necklaces turned out wonderful. Outstanding job with your soup.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon! To be truthful, it's my absolute hardest color combination, so I really appreciate the kind words!
DeleteEvery piece is charming in it's own way but I love most of all the red and blue necklace, it has so many textures intertwined!
ReplyDeleteI love how all your pieces turned out --those two necklaces are both stunning, and I love the bracelet with those shells! What beautiful designs :-)
ReplyDeleteYou did a really wonderful job! I personally really like the birds and flowers in the first one, but I would wear ANY of them!! ~KM
ReplyDeleteI love how you used the flower to make the tassel spill out of in the first piece ! Such bright colors, too... And the last bracelet is so elegant. You did some wonderful things with your soup !
ReplyDeleteWell, you know I love your designs, and I thought I had already left a comment! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the lightness of colours an design of the first necklace. So nice! ... and the bracelet is amazing :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces, I especially like the first necklace!

ReplyDeleteOh yes, Lisa, the first necklace is so sweet! Light and airy and lovely!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I LOVE that beach piece! I can hear the wind blowing! =) Curious - what did you use on the earrings...on the bottom hoop - at the top? It's hard to see what they are with them laying down, but look so classic!

Lisa your work is always so fun! The birds with the red calla style focal is my favorite followed closely by the sea charm bracelet!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steph...It was fun to watch it all evolve!
DeleteBoth necklaces are gorgeous but I am really in love with the earrings. The bracelet is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun when your finished piece isn't exactly as planned - but better?! I love all of your pieces. I'm definitely partial to the second one - my goal is to make more assymetrical designs. I love your use of mixed materials for the "chain".
ReplyDeleteFantastic designs. I'm so inspired. You did a Soup-er job!
ReplyDeleteLove the bold red necklace but my favorite is the bracelet. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteOmigosh, I love these and these are not colors that I would normally choose. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteLove how each necklace has a completely different vibe, even though the focals are similar in style. The red necklace has a Belle Epoque feel to it, while the blue one is definitely more southwestern. each design showcases the focal.
ReplyDeletewow, the first necklace is so unique - it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful designs!
ReplyDeleteLove the red and white striped flower pendant...especially with the chains coming out of it and the tiny flowers dangling off of them...really like 'swinging', dangling types of necklaces and arm candy!
ReplyDeleteAlso, the 'beach y' one is very cool...good use of your soup all the way around...:)
Your pieces look very nice. I especially like how you treated the focals with the extra dangles coming from inside. Well done!
ReplyDeleteMy fav is the beachy bracelet, but I also really like the red and black necklace. It looks so light and fun to wear.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely things you have made with your soup I especially like the necklace with the red flower and the sea themed bracelet very nice!

ReplyDeleteAll of your pieces are beautiful! You did great with your soup. So fun to see.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you really enjoyed your BSBP experience all in all. Your pieces are beautiful, but I especially like that first necklace. There's just something about the fringe and the little birdie on that one that speaks to me. Awesome job and I love your upbeat attitude about the whole process.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, The red and black in your first necklace really play well off each other. It is my favorite piece. Both of the focals that you received are gorgeous and you showcased them well. I like your earrings and bracelet too.
ReplyDeleteThese are so different from one another, yet all so gorgeous, Lisa :)
ReplyDeleteLove how you put together the first necklace--the focal is great and love the chain! Your other pieces are beautiful as well. Yummy beachy bracelet :)
